Welcome to Episode 5 of the With Grace and Faith Podcast! I’m your host, Brianne! In today’s episode, we will discuss how to save time so you can spend MORE time with your family!
Here’s the deal, friend. If there is anything I know about you, it’s that I know you don’t have much time. You want to do things like hang out with your family, or go hang out with your family at the zoo on weekends, or even have time to binge-watch your favorite TV shows like Yellowstone.
But what if I told you, you did actually have the time to do that stuff and that you are just not using your time effectively?
This, my friend, is one of the best productivity hacks, especially if you want to learn how to save time to spend more time with your family!
Question for you! When you make cookies, do you bake each cookie one at a time or in a batch?
You make them in a batch! One of the best productivity hacks is batching! This is how I can maintain a clean household, homeschool, spend time with my family, love my hubby and do a podcast!
So what is batching? Batching is when you go all in on one task for a certain amount of time. When you are batching, you are zoned and totally focused.
Let’s say you are a blogger who likes to blog! You sit down and take 2 hours to see how many blog posts you can write out. Once you write out all of the blog posts, you can schedule that content for weeks in advice.
This is one of the best ways, especially if you are looking for how to save time because you do not have to do the same mundane tasks week after week. And by batching, you are able to open up time and space for other things you actually want to do.
Let’s face it, multitasking isn’t effective anyway. When you are jumping from one task to another, you are using up a lot of mental space.
If you multitask for long enough, you will be exhausted because you are using so much of your brain. This can also lead to burnout. I don’t want you to have burnout
Ask yourself, when you are jumping around on tasks, how much are you really getting done? Compared to if you went all in on one thing
All the more reason why batching is more effective and will help you figure out how to save time!
As if this didn’t convince you already, here are 3 amazing perks about batching!
This is one of the best parts because, by batching, you are creating more time to do the things you actually want to do.
That means more time with your family, more time where you can get your nails done, more time to just chill, and more time to binge-watch Yellowstone.
Imagine not having a foggy brain. When you batch, a foggy brain doesn’t exist because you are going all in on one task.
By batching, you get hyperfocused, and it is easy to lose track of time. This can get you into a flow state, also! That flow state is the same one that leads to sparks of creativity! That’s why it is so important to have a notebook nearby for when new ideas pop up!
If you are anything like me who gets easily scatterbrained, batching is a godsend! No more squirrel brain!
When you batch, you will be amazed at just how much you can get done in a short amount of time. You can schedule things out in advance and feel like a total boss who totally has their life together!
Batching is the absolute best productivity hack, especially when you are searching for how to save time so you can spend MORE time with your family!
