Are you in a season when everything feels like it is falling apart? If so, know you are not alone! In this article, we will go over three simple steps to do when everything goes wrong. Ready to get started? Here we go!
Let’s face it; life is rough. Especially if you are in a season where it feels like anything and everything is falling apart! If you are anything like me, you start to doubt and wonder when things will start panning out for the better.
Recently, I was in a season of hardship. My family and I moved across the country to another state to our new home to be met with a ton of obstacles and trials. One of those challenges was our second day living in our new home; our first floor was flooded with water and sewage. Super gross, I know.
Now being on the other side of that trial, in particular, I can see the blessings that came from it.
If it weren’t for the flood, I would’ve never had the drive to become a real estate agent so that other families could go into new build homes and not have the problems mine did.
All of that being said, in this article, we will be going over the three steps of what to do when everything goes wrong! That way, you can keep your head high with God on your side. Ready to get started? Here we go!
The first thing you will ask yourself is, what is going right in your life?
I know, I know. But Brianne, don’t you understand? Everything is going wrong!
Yes, you are right; a lot of things are going wrong. But there are things in your life where things are going right.
Even in the worst situations, something is always going right. Maybe it is the roof over your head or the food in your fridge. Perhaps it’s your phone or desktop you are reading this blog post on.
The Bible talks a lot about being grateful for everything you have and for any circumstances that may come your way.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Another bible verse says, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! (1 Chronicles 16:24)
It’s easy to focus on the negative things in your life. But when you shift your focus to the glory of God’s goodness, you can rest easy and be thankful, knowing everything will work out as it should. This leads us to step number two!
One of the best things you can do whenever you are in a season of hardships is pray. In Mark 11:24, the Bible says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” This doesn’t mean God is some genie in a bottle granting you your wishes. It doesn’t mean you will “manifest” something when you pray. Instead, this verse is about having unwavering faith and trust that God will provide for you.
If you are struggling to come up with a prayer, start with a prayer of thankfulness that you are living another day. Psalms 118:24 says, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
When I am in seasons of hardship, before my feet hit the floor, I thank God for another day that my heart is still beating and that I can spend it with the people I love most.
Also, if you are into worship music, there is this song called ‘Miracle Power’ by We The Kingdom. One of the lyrics says, “I may not know what a day may bring, but I know who brings the day.”
Every day we can rest in peace knowing that God has everything taken care of and is listening to our prayers.
When everything goes wrong, remember this! This, too, shall pass. Remember that it is only temporary when going through a hardship, and keep going! None of us are promised an easy life. But we can rest easy being rooted in Christ, knowing everything will work out as it should.
God will never give you more than you can handle. In Isaiah 41:20, the Bible says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
